information coming out of l.a.x., the los angeles international airport. shots were heard, shots were fired. we're told about a half an hour or so ago, 9:30 a.m. pacific time. that would be 12:30 p.m. here on the east coast. about a half an hour or so ago, this incident apparently started with the shots fired. there are injuries. we've seen people evacuated. and we've sign people who have been injured. we have no idea what caused the shots to be fired. we do know that as a precaution, as they always do at these kinds of incidents, authorities are taking precautions and evacuating the terminal. we believe it's terminal 3 at l.a.x. if you're familiar with l.a.x., this is a huge terminal. this is a huge airport. on a friday morning when traffic is just building up for something like this to happen obviously very, very disturbing. l.a., l.a.x. police confirming and i'm quoting now there is an incident at l.a.x. and evacuations are under way. shots have been fired. and people have been injured. apparently multiple injuries in this incident. tom fuentes, our law enforcement analyst is on the phon

been happening at los angeles international airport for the better part of an hour and a half, really panic and bloodshed. a shooting at lax. a couple items i need to pass along to you. first and foremost, a ground stop that is now in place, according to the faa. this all happened right around terminal three. gunshots rang out early this morning, right around 9:30 local time. we're hearing reports, this is from sources from one of our correspondents, deborah feyerick, that a gunman with a high-powered rifle entered terminal three and opened fire. shooting a tsa security agent. it is unclear, this is one of many things we do not know at this hour. whether or not that gunman actually breached security. according to her sources, it does not appear that that individual did that, but also according to deb, the gunman is believed to have been shot and is now in police custody. we're hearing right now as this is still underway here, as you see a tremendous law enforcement presence at l.a.x., hearing from a number of eyewitnesses here and looking, as you can see a couple different boxes on yo

with two frightening incidents at los angeles international airport, they happened almost simultaneously, one at terminal 4, the other at terminal 5. at terminal 4, a prank call to police caused this chaotic scene. authorities say it all began when the caller reported a gunman at the airport and that prompted this response from police. >> everyone on the ground! everybody get down! >> police evacuated the terminal, didn't find anything suspicious, gave the all clear almost at the same time. at terminal 5, an suv crashed, triggering a panic reaction from passengers inside. paul vercammen has more. >> reporter: last night, absolute panic at lax. what happened, this driver of a minivan collided with parked cars and hit a parking structure here. someone mistook the sounds of the collision for gunfire. and as you also pointed out, there's what police are determining a prank call to another terminal saying there's a man with a gun inside. police came rushing into both terminals, guns drawn, and basically you can imagine the passengers here absolutely scared out of their minds as this went on.

at los angeles international airport last week. new details are emerging tonight. prosecutors say the shooter fired at point blank range at officer hernandez, who then crumbled to the floor. he got on the escalatoescalatort up. officers hernandez squirming around. road the escalator back down and shot him. two other tsa officers were wounded and treated at hospitals and released. 29-year-old high school teacher brianland mer is in fair condition. he was shot in the leg. cnn's stephanie is outside the airport for us. you spoke with a witness who saw the shooting. what did he say to you? >> reporter: very much so, don. he was here at the airport to pick up the bags that he and his wife and son deserted as everything was going down. they heard the first fire shots. hit the ground and then there was a pause. and now, this gentleman i spoke to, he believes that's when he ran the shooter ran up the stairs and went back to shoot that tsa agent. this is what he said he saw from his perspective. >> we were up in security at the time of the shooting. we heard the initial gunshots. and every

aboard air force one in california. the president is moving from san francisco to los angeles later today, but en route to san francisco, josh earnest telling reporters that that site will be ready. he said it will be ready for the vast majority of users on november 30th. that they feel like at this point, they're going to hit that target date and he said that because for a couple of things. they feel like they have gotten the error rate down, that they have also gotten more capacity. they believe that 50,000 concurrent users can use healthcare.gov as we speak right now, and they feel like that will be the case on november 30th. i did talk to a senior administration official about all of this who cautions that once again, this website will not be perfect. will not be perfect on november 30th, but they do feel like it will be ready for the vast majority of users. that's been the metric they've been using for the last several years, the vast majority of users on the website will be able to sign up and get health insurance. of course, all of this is coming at hopefully at least in the eyes o
